The 404Audio Collective spearheaded by dj/producer/entrepreneur Mayhem is responsible for some of the most banging drum&bass events in recent years. The next installment in their newly minted “Mass Transit” events is taking place at The Loft in Atlanta and is set to feature international scene favorites  Friction and Photek -alongside tons of local and regional talent- for what looks to be a venerable throwdown.

My buddies Mayhem & Kevin O are back again with their ‘Diamond$ & Pearl$’ dubstep + downtempo night, after moving locations to ultra chill spot P’Cheen. They’re having me out on Wednesday, April 16 to lay down some dubstep grooves alongside Kevin O. I’ve heard great things about the food and atmosphere at P’Cheen, so I’m looking forward to checking it out for myself. Also got to lace up the flyer for this on some last minute shit:

Downtown Athens entrepreneur and DJ, Mark Bell, is launching a brand new dance club in the space formerly known as Club Detour. I got the full tour of Blur at the “soft opening” last night, and despite initial reservations I had before entering the place, I gotta say now that dude is doing it in a big way. I wouldn’t call it “upscale” (maybe “casual chic”), but it’s an incredible improvement over Detour, starting with the layout changes, to the brand new sound system and seemingly capable bartending staff. I got high hopes for this spot, and I’m hoping they fulfill their aim of having “Something for Everyone” as they’re shooting to be the new haven for the area’s club revelers at large, and the LGBT community in particular.

Tomorrow night at MJQ! the Sloppy Seconds crew bring electro duo LA Riots to town, for what sure looks to be utter dancefloor devastation. I go way back with Daniel Le Disko from ye olden days of drum & bass. This guy is a monster on the decks I gotta say, and their recent studio/remix output completely bangin’.

In the eleventh hour, our buddy Soundboi came through with a surprise Halloween booking, just when I was beginning to wonder how the hell we got stuck twiddling our thumbs on the scariest night of the year. The fact that it’s a sorority party is just an added bonus.
